Admission Policy

Places are allocated on a first come first served basis.

When all nursery places are full you will be placed on a waiting list. A completed registration form must be returned before you are included on a nursery waiting list.
To confirm a nursery place for your child you will be required to return a signed completed contract to us with a registration fee of £25.00.

Discounts

5% if full time place booked.
10% for second and subsequent child if full time place booked.

The nursery is closed for 2 weeks over the Christmas period

Please note that it is not possible to swap sessions you have booked. Extra sessions may be available at an additional charge payable on the day.

Sickness Absence

You will still be charged if your child is absent due to illness.

Notice of Termination

One month’s written notice is required when withdrawing your child from the nursery.

Where possible morning sessions may be lengthened at a charge of £6.00 per hour.

You may pay by standing order, direct debit, cheque or cash.

Nationally & across all Local Authorities, all three and four year old and some 2 year olds are entitled to 15 hours of free early learning and childcare per week – for 38 weeks of the year. Russell Street nursery offers this funding. This entitlement begins the term after your child’s second or third birthday.

What is free early education and childcare?

All eligible two year olds are able to take a place the term after their birthday.

Child’s 2nd birthday is between: ………………When you can claim:
1 January to 31 March ……………………………..the beginning of Summer term on                                                                                  or after 1 April.
1 April to 31 August …………………………………the beginning of Autumn term on                                                                                    or after 1 September.
1 September to 31 December ……………………..the beginning of Spring term on or                                                                                  after 1 January.

Is my child eligible for a free place?

If your child is two you are eligible if you are claiming any one of the following:

    • Income Support
    • Income-based Job seeker’s Allowance
    • Income related Employment and Support Allowance
    • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
    • The Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
    • Child Tax Credit with earnings from employment below £16,190
    • Working Tax Credit with earnings from employment are below £16,190
    • Disability Living Allowance (for the child not yourself)

Or if your child:

    • Is a looked after child
    • Has left care – a child who has left care through a child arrangement order (formerly known as special guardianship) or an adoption or residence order
    • Has special educational needs, and/or disabilities – but only if he/she has a current SEN statement or an Education, Health and Care plan or receives Disability Living Allowance
